Delete Your Account
Effective: May 13, 2026
LetsBeParents (operated by BYITSMART DOO, Bar, Montenegro) provides multiple ways to delete your account and associated personal data. This page explains how to request account deletion, what happens after you do, what data is removed, and what is retained for legal or security reasons.
How to delete your account
Option 1: Delete from within the app (recommended)
Open the LetsBeParents app on your device
Go to Settings → Account
Tap Delete Account
Confirm your decision when prompted
Option 2: Contact support
If you cannot access the app, email us at [email protected] from the email address associated with your account. Include the subject "Account Deletion Request" so we can identify and process your request promptly.
What happens after you request deletion
When you request account deletion:
Immediately: Your account is marked as deleted. Your profile becomes invisible to other users. You are signed out and locked out of the app. Active subscriptions are cancelled (no auto-renewal).
Within 30 days: A grace period allows you to recover your account by contacting support. After this window, deletion becomes permanent and irreversible.
After 30 days: Permanent deletion is performed automatically by our system. All your personal data is removed from our production database.
What data is deleted
Your account email and login credentials
Your profile (name, photos, bio, preferences, search filters)
Your uploaded photos and avatars (from our servers and CDN storage)
Your messages and chat history
Your likes, matches, and visitor records
Your device registrations (push notification tokens, session data)
Your subscription history within the app (see retention note below for tax records)
What data is retained, and for how long
Audit logs: System audit records (login events, moderation actions, content reports) are retained in anonymized form (your user ID is nullified) for security and legal compliance purposes. Retention: up to 7 years.
Transaction records: Payment and subscription purchase records (including refunds) are retained per applicable financial and tax law (typically 7-10 years in Montenegro / EU jurisdictions).
Reports against you: If other users have reported your account for policy violations, those reports remain for our moderation records but are no longer linked to your identity.
Backup snapshots: Database backups containing your data are retained for up to 90 days for disaster recovery. After 90 days, your data is purged from backups as part of routine backup rotation.
App Store and Google Play subscriptions
Deleting your account in our app does not automatically cancel subscriptions managed by Apple App Store or Google Play. If you have an active subscription, you must cancel it separately:
iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → LetsBeParents → Cancel Subscription
Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → LetsBeParents → Cancel
